Lari Stoermer Niles

Lari Stoermer Niles, age 69, of West, passed away Saturday, December 19, 2015 at Lake Ridge Healthy Living in Waco. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 28, 2015 at the Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Jimmy Sansom officiating. Lari was born February 20, 1946 in Tyler, the daughter of Coble and Jaunice (Starnes) York. She graduated from John Tyler High School in 1964 and attended Baylor University in Waco where she received a Bachelor and Masters Degree in Education. On June 28, 1971, she was united in marriage to Kenneth Stoermer in Waco. He preceded her in death on March 6, 2006. In April of 2007, she was united in marriage to Thomas Niles Sr. in West. Lari was a Jr. high teacher for the West Independent School District for over 23 years until her retirement. She also taught at Waco and Riesel Independent School Districts. She loved race cars and held the title for the NCCC Drag Racing Record Holder. Lari also loved singing, gardening and especially spending time with her grandchildren. She was a very active member of the First United Methodist Church in West where she enjoyed serving the church and was choir director for many years. She also was a member of the Corvette Club in Waco, Baylor Alumni and the Baylor Senior Choir. Lari is preceded in death by her father; her brother, Nicky York; and a grandson, Tim Williams. Survivors include her husband, Thomas Niles Sr. of West; a son, Steven Stoermer of West; a daughter, Stacy Bartosh of Lorena; a daughter-in-law, Sondra Stoermer of West; her mother, Jaunice York; two brothers, Robert Threlkeld and Billy Threlkeld; seven grandchildren, Dylan, Daylon and Kynlee Bartosh, Stevie Stoermer II, Mallory Kreder, Hannah and Landus Hutyra; her great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lake Ridge Healthy Living, 2239 Lake Ridge Circle, Waco, Texas 76710.
