LaDonna King, age 70, of Whitney, passed away late Friday morning, February 19, 2021 at Parkland Medical Center in Dallas. A rosary will be recited and Mass of Christian Burial celebrated 10:00 a.m. Friday February 26, 2021 at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, with Rev. Timothy Vaverek as celebrant, assisted by Deacon Ronnie Sykora. Burial will follow at White Rock Cemetery in Ross. The family will receive visitors 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Aderhold Funeral Home. Limited capacity, facial masks, and social distancing are required at all services. LaDonna was born February 10, 1951 in Hillsboro, the daughter of Odell and Aleta (Lewis) McConathy. She attended school in Hillsboro. On January 11, 1969, she was united in marriage to John King Jr. in West. He preceded her in death on March 12, 2020. LaDonna was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West. John and LaDonna were co-owners of the Bluebonnet Cafe in Whitney for several years. She also worked for the Walmart Bakery in Hillsboro for over 14 years. LaDonna enjoyed word searches, jigsaw puzzles, watching all sports, drinking Dr. Pepper and visiting with her friends. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. LaDonna is also preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Ronnie McConathy; and her sister, Sandra Janes. Survivors include her children, John Brian King and wife Vickie of Whitney, Natasha LaJuan King of Waco, and Joshua Earl King and wife Stacy of Whitney; her grandchildren, Angel Parsons and husband Mark, Reann Rodriquez, Kaelyn Williams, and Rylan King; her great grandsons, Cash and Cooper; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are David Williams, Rylan King, John Brian King, Joshua Earl King, Sam King Sr., Sam King Jr., Steve Dudik and James Ince. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to charity of choice.
