Kim Busby, age 67, of Ross, passed away Monday afternoon, September 11, 2023 at West Rest Haven in West. Kim was born September 28, 1955 in Waco,Texas. Daughter of the late Richard and Jacqueline (Popp) Busby, Kim attended Connally ISD and previously worked for Goodwill Industries. Kim participated in MHMR programs for many years. Kim loved family, friends, music, dancing, and meeting new people. She never met a stranger. Holidays and birthdays were her favorite!
Survivors include sisters, Kay Busby of Ross, Tana Nichols of Elm Mott, and Francene and Kevin Dorton of Lorena; brothers, Blane and Pamela Busby of Temple and Richard R. Jr. and Cindy Busby of Ross; nieces and nephews, Jennifer Ward, Jim Montgomery, Heather Coleman, Ashley Bohannon, Maralee Nichols, Courtney Sanders, Caleb Dorton, Jacob Dorton, Emily Busby, Trey Busby, Gavin Busby, Ashlyn Busby, Lauryn Busby, Matthew Busby, Megan Busby, Christopher Busby, Haley Busby, Alexander Busby, and Aimee Busby; and many great nieces and nephews, and treasured friends.
Kim’s family would like to send a special thank you the MHMR staff/caregivers from over the years including, Iris Miles, Pamela Bell, Marilyn "Faye" Freeman, Rebecca Burns, Laurie Chamberlin, Sandy and nursing staff, Sherly Conners, Tom Willis and HOTI Day Hab Staff, Group/Respite Home staff. Betty Sue Wells, West Rest Haven staff/ nurses, and many others who have blessed our sister, showing her great compassion, respect, and joy!
A celebration of her life will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 28, 2023 at White Rock Cemetery in Ross. Aderhold Funeral Home in West is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to MHMR Waco or West Rest Haven Activity Fund, in-lieu of flowers.
