Kevin Anz

Kevin Dean Anz, age 59, of Clifton, passed away Wednesday afternoon, August 16, 2023 in Clifton.

A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Friday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, followed by visitation until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 19, 2023 at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, with Rev. Timothy Vaverek and Rev. John Boiko as celebrants. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery near West.

Kevin was born August 26, 1963 in Clifton, the son of Henry and Dora (Buro) Anz. He was a 1982 graduate from Clifton High School. He went on to receive an associate degree in horticulture from TSTI. On September 6, 1997 he was united in marriage to Sandra Cervenka in West. Kevin was a faithful member of the Holy Angels Catholic Church in Clifton and the KJT Society #31 in West. He was the owner and operated Lawn Works and Irrigation in Clifton for 39 years. Kevin enjoyed farming and tending to all his animals, especially his cats and cattle. He was known as an expert carpenter and decorator, was very mechanically inclined, and could fix anything. Kevin was very generous and ready to help someone in need. He was a big man with a big heart, fantastic in commercial and residential landscaping, and enjoyed decorating for Christmas. He loved family gatherings and was always humorous and ready to make everyone laugh.

Kevin is preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, Wilfred Cervenka; and a nephew, Brian Matthys.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 26 years, Sandra Anz of Clifton; a sister, Katharine Matthys and husband Marvin of Hubbard; mother-in-law, Willie Mae Cervenka of West; nephews, Bradley Matthys and wife Sarah and Brent Matthys and wife Crystal; a great niece, Kindra Matthys; two great nephews, Brody and Cole Matthys; a sister-in-law, Darlene Simcik and husband John; brothers-in-law, Ronny Cervenka and wife Susan and Gary Cervenka and wife Patricia; his longtime partner in landscaping, Louis Fabrygel; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Pallbearers are Bradley Matthys, Brent Matthys, Marvin Matthys, Louis Fabrygel, Ronny Cervenka, Gary Cervenka, and John Simcik.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Holy Angels Catholic Church in Clifton or St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption.
