Kerry Rev. Allison

Rev. Kerry Allison, age 51, of Chalk Bluff, passed away early Monday morning, November 6, 2006 at Providence Health Center in Waco. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Brazos Meadows Baptist Church in Hewitt, with Rev. Billy Edwards officiating. Military Graveside Rites will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery near West, conducted by V.F.W. Post No. 4819 of West. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Aderhold Funeral Home in West. Kerry was born January 5, 1955 in Searcy, Arkansas, the son of Homer Milton and JoAnn Allison, Jr. He graduated from Penelope High School where he met and later married the love of his life, Janice Parma on March 31, 1973. In 1974, Kerry began his service in the United States Air Force. Upon retirement due to honorable discharge, he moved back to Texas with his family in 1982. He received his Bachelors degree in Religion from Baylor University in 1986, and soon became an ordained minister. Kerry was a member of the American Legion Post in Austin and a faithful member of the Brazos Meadows Baptist Church in Hewitt. He enjoyed fishing, playing dominoes, telling jokes, and hunting. His most precious time was spent with his family and grandchildren. His maternal grandparents, Earl Rollins and Mattie Bennett; his paternal grandfather, Homer Milton Allison Sr.; his brother, Scott Milton Allison, his in-laws, Joe and Rosalie Parma; his brother-in-law, James Parma; all preceded him in death. Survivors include, his loving and devoted wife of 33 years, Janice Allison of Chalk Bluff; three daughters, Shannon Shroyer and her husband Matt, Tonja Hammermeister, and Crystal Allison, all of Waco; his parents, Homer "Milton" and JoAnn Allison, Jr. of Hewitt; his only living grandparent, Irene Allison of Arkansas; three brothers, Kenneth Allison of Waco, Al Allison and his wife Heather of Chattanooga, Tennessee, and William Castro of Hewitt; one sister, LaDonna Stough and her husband Don of Cedar Park; four grandchildren, Tylor and Taryn Hammermeister, Allyson Parsons and Madyson Shroyer; a granddog Trixie; a brother-in-law, Ray Parma and his wife Rose; a sister-in-law, Patsy Parma-Drews and her husband Garry; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Pallbearers are Ray Parma, Kenneth Allison, Al Allison, Matt Shroyer, Don Stough, Roy Sparkman, Steve Harris, and the late James Parma. Memorials may be made to the Brazos Meadows Baptist Church or to the American Heart Association.
