Kenny Lenart, age 57, of Abbott, passed away early Thursday evening, April 13, 2017 at Hill Regional Hospital in Hillsboro from a sudden heart attack. A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Monday at the Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, with visitation to follow until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Abbott, with Rev. Joe Keating as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Marys Cemetery in West. Kenny was born May 2, 1959 in Waco, the son of the late Tony and Irene (Beseda) Lenart. He was a 1977 graduate of Penelope High School before attending McLennan Community College. On February 18, 1984 he was united in marriage to Sharon Diane Brown in Tours. Kenny worked at M&M Mars until his retirement in 2009 and presently worked for Industrial Rigging Service. He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Abbott. Kenny was a Fourth Degree Knight with Knights of Columbus Assembly No. 2391 and was a past Penelope Fire Chief. He enjoyed playing the guitar, singing Karaoke and especially loved teaching his grandchildren to play sports. Survivors include his wife, Sharon Lenart of Abbott; his daughters, Holly Cohorn and husband John of Austin and Kelly Kaska and husband Justin of Abbott; grandchildren, Dinah, Zander and Trevor; a brother, Dennis Lenart and wife Pam; sisters, JoAnn Kaluza and husband Anton and Charlotte Carter and husband Rae; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Glenn Fabian, Randy Ellison, Bryan Anderson, David Holub, Ronald Osborne and Terry Timmons. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to West Volunteer Ambulance Association or the charity of your choice.
