Kay Porter Dickenson, age 62, of West passed away Sunday, July 31, 2005 in a Waco nursing home. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Brian Pendleton officiating. Burial will follow at White Rock Cemetery near Ross. Kay was born June 1, 1943 in Hillsboro, the daughter of James and Orbie Jewel Porter. She attended schools in the West area and married Zen Dickenson on December 31, 1974 in Waco. Kay was owner of Kay's Beauty Shop before retiring in 2001. She loved to play bingo and watching Dallas Cowboys football and Texas Rangers baseball. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Her parents, a brother, Tommy Porter, and a niece, Tracy Clark, all preceded her in death. Survivors include her husband, Zen of West; two brothers, Dennis Porter and wife Sheryl of West and Bobby Humphrey and wife Carmen of Austin; her sister, Melba Jean Beardon and husband Bennie of Hillsboro; two aunts, Georgia Burns of Ft. Worth and Edna Burns of Indianapolis IN; three nephews, Keith Porter, Troy Porter, and Tommy Porter, Jr; five nieces, DeLayne Chudej and husband David, Darla Gerik and husband Troy, Diana Teague, Barbara Bolte, and Sandra Wiesman; and other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Keith Porter, Troy Porter, Tommy Porter, Jr., Troy Gerik, David Chudej, and Raymond Kolar. Memorials may be made to Providence Hospice.
