Judy Ridlehuber

August 31, 1923 — June 6, 2022

Judy Janek Ridlehuber, age 98, of Abbott, passed away late Monday morning, June 6, 2022 at Methodist Charlton Medical Center in Dallas.


A rosary will be prayed 6:00 p.m. Thursday, June 9, 2022 at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, followed by visitation until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 10, 2022 at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Abbott, with Rev. Brijil Lawrence as celebrant.  Burial will follow at Fatima Cemetery.


Judy was born August 31, 1923 in West, the daughter of Louis and Julia (Kallus) Hykel.  She attended Abbott Schools. Judy was united in marriage to Rudy T. Janek, the father of her children, for 40 years. He preceded her in death on June 19, 2001. On May 5, 1985 she was united in marriage to Homer Ridlehuber in Hillsboro. Homer preceded her in death on February 16, 2004. Judy was a faithful member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Abbott. She was also a member of the SPJST Lodge 54 in West, KJZT Society #104 in Abbott, Catholic Daughters of America Court #2153 in Hillsboro, and the McLennan-Hill Czech Heritage Society. She worked for Bremmerton Branch Bank in Seattle, WA, Maggie's Fabric Patch in West, Citizens National Bank in Hillsboro and Spartan Copper Plant in Hillsboro.  Judy enjoyed farming, gardening, sewing, going to the casinos, traveling, and baking kolaches for which she received many awards.  She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.


Judy is also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Harvey Janek; a stepson, Hoyt Ridlehuber; a grandson, Aaron Janek; her brother, L.A. Hykel; and sisters, Helen Pustejovsky, Clara Nors, and Leona Taylor.


Survivors include her children, Ronald Janek and wife Jeanette of Italy, Tommy Janek of Abbott, and Willie Janek of Glen Heights; stepchildren, Harold Ridlehuber, Betty Cheathem, and Peggy Pharris; her grandchildren, Ronnie and Allison Janek, Stephen and Angie Janek, Dennis and Cortney Janek, Ryan and Adrienne Janek, Michael and Melanie Janek, Michelle and Matt Russell, and Lindsey and Kenneth Rodgers; great-grandchildren, Chandler and Kevin Hejl, Dylan and Ashton Janek, Peyton and Nolan Grimm, Emily Janek, Landry Janek, Garrett Janek, Reese Janek, Kaylynn Janek, Olivia Janek, Chloe Janek, Gunner Russell, Gavin Russell, Mitchell Janek, Hunter Janek, Ryder Rodgers, and Reid Rodgers; great great grandchildren, Carson Hejl and Callie Janek; numerous step grandchildren and great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.


Pallbearers are Ronnie Janek, Stephen Janek, Ryan Janek, Michael Janek, Matt Russell, and Kenneth Rodgers.


In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fatima Cemetery.
