Juan M. Cardenas

Juan M. Cardenas, age 57 of Waco passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2007 at Providence Health Center in Waco. A rosary will be recited 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Anthony Odiong. Graveside services will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Oakwood Cemetery with Rev. Anthony Odiong officiating. Juan was born December 21, 1949 in Austin, the son of Paul and Olivia (Garcia) Cardenas. He attended Allen Jr. High and graduated from Austin High School. In 1980, he received his certification from barber college. Juan served his country in the United States Army. On June 27, 1967, he was united in marriage to Marie (Zamarripa) Cardenas in Austin. He loved spending time with his family and enjoyed fishing. He was self-employed in construction and fabrication business. Juan was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church in Waco. Survivors include his beloved wife of 39 years, Marie Cardenas of Waco; four sons, Van Cardenas and his wife Felicia, Juan Cardenas and wife Angelica, and Lupe Cardenas, all of Waco, and Paul Cardenas and wife Nicole of West; two daughters, Veronica Ethridge and her husband John of Waco, and Jessica Mesa and husband Leonard of Cabot, AR; two brothers, Trinidad Castro of Bay City, MI and Guadlupe Rodriguez of Houston; five sisters, Aurora Martina of Bay City, MI, Romona Moreno of Mathis, Antonia Davila of Seminole, Guillerma Sepeda of Lubbock, and Dominga Mendoza of Austin; twelve grandchildren and two on the way; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Memorials may be made to St. Louis Catholic Church in Waco or St. Mary's Parish Center in West.
