Juan Hernandez Perez

Juan Hernandez Perez, age 56, of West, passed away Sunday, March 30, 2014 near Hillsboro from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Friday at the Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, followed by a visitation until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:00 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, with Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Juan was born June 24, 1958 in Francisco, I Madero, Durango, the son of Eulalo and Maria Hernandez Perez. He attended school in Durango. On April 17, 1989 Juan was united in marriage to Elva Soto Perez in Durango. He currently worked as a Fork Lift Operator for Cargill in Waco for the last 15 years. Juan was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, and was a former member of St. Francis Catholic Church in Waco, where he loved to sing in the choir. He loved family gatherings, listening to music, dancing and dressing up on weekends. Juan was preceded in death by his parents; and his father-in-law, Francisco Soto. Survivors include his loving wife of 23 years, Elva Perez; four sons, Raziel Perez, Jose Perez, Juan Perez Jr., and Uriel Perez; two daughters, Elva Perez Tanner and husband Trey, and Maria Perez, all of West; mother-in-law, Hermelinda Medina; two brothers, Leonides Perez and Gregorio Perez; five sisters, Petra Perez, Cornada Santillano, Antonio Avila, Lorenza Soriano and Pablina Perez; a granddaughter, Elle Edith Tanner; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
