Joyce Warren

Joyce Dee Warren Benham, age 87, of Hamilton, passed away early Monday morning, March 21, 2022 at Good Tree Assisted Living in Stephenville.

Private Memorial Graveside Services will be held at DFW National Cemetery in Dallas, with burial next to her husband, Burney Warren Jr.

Joyce was born August 6, 1934 in Hill County, the daughter of A.D. and Freda (Geise) Herring.  She attended school in Kopperl and was a graduate of Kopperl High School.  On December 16, 1950 she was united in marriage to Burney Warren Jr. in Meridian.  Burney preceded her in death on July 24, 2003.  Joyce was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Hamilton.  She was a homemaker and loved working at the bank in Meridian and Arlington.  Joyce enjoyed playing Bridge and was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers.  Spending time with children and grandchildren brought her the most joy.  She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Meridian and Arlington.

Joyce is also preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Julie Gideon; and brothers, Donald and Jodie Herring.

Survivors include her children, Suzan Ladd of Hamilton, TX, Joseph Warren of Calhan, CO; a son-in-law, Jerry Gideon of Haslet; a brother, Kenneth and Nell Herring; a sister-in-law, Fay Herring; six grandchildren, Mackenzie Warren, Jerritt and Carmin Gideon, James Gideon, Katherine Ladd, Savanah Warren, and Wesley Warren; a great-granddaughter, Addi Warren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church in Meridian.
