Josephine "Josie" Kubala, age 96, of West, passed away Tuesday afternoon, April 25, 2017 at her daughter's residence in West. A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Thursday at the Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel, with visitation to follow until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 3:00 p.m. Friday, April 28, 2017 at St. Marys Catholic Church of the Assumption, with Rev. Ed Karasek and Rev. Paul Hudson as celebrants. Burial will follow at St. Marys Cemetery. Josie was born February 16, 1921 in Krum, the daughter of Joseph and Helen (Watuber) Oujesky. She attended schools Pilot Point and Tioga. On April 15, 1941 she was united in marriage to Henry A. Kubala in Pilot Point. Henry preceded her in death on January 18, 2013. Josie was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church of the Assumption. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of America Court #829, St. Anne's Altar Society, S.P.J.S.T. Lodge #92 in Ft. Worth and the K.J.T. Society in West. Josie was a homemaker and enjoyed baking, playing Taroky and dominoes, gardening, quilting, embroidering and playing slot machines. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Josie is also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Kenneth Kubala; sons-in-law, Mark Lansdown, Ken Bernsen, Frank Reichardt and Mike Click; brothers, Joe Oujesky, Frank Oujesky, Bill Oujesky and Clem Oujesky; and sister, Mary Mouton. Survivors include; daughters, Yvonne Lansdown of West, Janice Bernsen of Temple, Sandra Kaplan of Duxbury, MA, Joyce Reichardt of Belton, Vicki Clanton and husband Lynn of Ft. Worth and Patti Click of Sherman; a daughter-in-law, Margaret Kubala of West; sister, Helen Hodges; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Scaff and Joella Kubala; 20 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; a great-great grandson; her constant companion and beloved dog, Roxie; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Active pallbearers are grandsons, Jeff Bernsen, Kenneth Kubala Jr., Jarrett Kaplan, Darryl Kaplan, Ari Kaplan, Greg Clanton, Jayson Clanton, Eric Lansdown, Jeremy Lansdown, Trevor Lansdown and Patrick Click. Honorary pallbearers are granddaughters, Audra Jaeger, Kristie Bryant, Angela Kennedy, Andrea Clifton, Heather Jenkins, Jessica Lambert, Jeana Schnedorf, Leah Howard and Monica Hughes. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, the ALS Foundation or St. Mary's School Wish List.
