Josephine Lander Lehmann

Josephine Francis Ottilie (Lander) Lehmann, age 93, of West, formerly of Malone, passed away early Sunday morning, March 10, 2013 at West Rest Haven in West. Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Gerald Cemetery near Leroy, with Rev. Gene Kotrla officiating. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at Aderhold Funeral Home. Mrs. Lehmann was born June 20, 1919, the daughter of Henry and Annie (Otto) Lander. She attended the old Gerald, Savage & Barton Schools. On November 23, 1937, she was united in marriage to Edward Louis Lehmann in Walling. He preceded her in death on October 15, 1966. Much of her married life was spent working side by side with Edd making their farm a success. She also worked as a CNA at Town Hall Estates, and for the Malone I.S.D. as a Teacher's Aide. She will be remembered for the many other activities in her life such as a seamstress, Grandma Lehman's care-taker and so much more. For those privileged enough to have had a meal at the Lehmann house, you will remember her wonderful banana cake, apple pie, chicken salad, and icebox cookies. She enjoyed playing Canasta with the Trojans twice weekly during the winter months. She was a member of St. Paul's United Church in Gerald. Mrs. Lehmann is also preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Katie Drews; and a brother, Monroe Lander. Survivors include a son, Eddie Lehmann and wife Ruth of Bynum; a daughter, Connie Taylor and husband Mike of Flagstaff, Arizona; a brother, Lonnie Lander and wife Barbara; a sister-in-law, Mary Lander; a granddaughter Vicki Brown and husband Kenny; a very special great-granddaughter, Emily Brown; and many nieces, nephews, other friends and relatives. Honorary pallbearers are Kenny Brown, John Vigus, Gary Drews, Glenn Vigus, Michael Lander and Russell Schier. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Gerald Cemetery Association.
