Joseph F. "Joey" Pustejovsky Jr., age 29, of West, passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2013, while providing the ultimate sacrifice to the Community of West. A Rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Thursday, April 25, 2013, at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, followed by visitation until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 26, 2013, at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West with Rev. Ed Karasek, Rev. Anthony Odiong, Rev. Paul Hudson, and Rev. Will Straten as celebrants and assisted by Deacon Ronnie Sykora. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery near West. Joey will lie in state beginning 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 23, 2013, at the funeral home. Joey was born August 3, 1983 in Waco to Joseph Frank "Joe", Sr. and Carolyn Ann (Kapavik) Pustejovsky. He attended St. Marys School in West and was a 2001 graduate of West High School. He also attended McLennan Community College in Waco. Since 2009 he had been the City Secretary for the town of West. He had also previously worked for the Sears and Roebuck Company and as a Personal Property Appraiser for McLennan County Appraisal District. On March 10, 2012, he married Kelly Diane Sebesta in West. Joey liked to hunt, play golf, work in his yard, and was an avid A&M fan. He loved spending time with his children and family and being actively involved with the community, his church, and his Fire Department family. He was a life member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of The Assumption in West, where he started the youth ministry and was the director for 2 years of the Catholic Brothers and Sisters United Youth Ministry, gift bearer, and CCE teacher. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #2305 and the Monsignor George 4th Degree Assembly 2391, West ACTS Men's Community, West ACTS Core where he served as Treasurer, County Line Aggie Club, West Fire Department, where he served as treasurer, and the National Rifle Association. Preceding him in death were his brother, Jeremy Pustejovsky, and grandparents, Frankie Kapavik, Sr. and Anton and Helen Pustejovsky. Survivors include his beloved wife of a year, Kelly Pustejovsky of West; children, Parker, Beau, Kayla, and Ashley, all of West; parents, Joe and Carolyn Pustejovsky of West; grandmother, Teresa Compton and husband, Marcus, of Crawford; brother, Bradley Pustejovsky and wife, Dolores, of West; in-laws, Joe and Brenda Sebesta of Waco and brother-in-law, David Sebesta of Ft. Worth; and many aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends. Active pallbearers will be Greg Pustejovsky, Eddie Hykel, C. J. Gillaspie, Michael Irving, Caleb Petter, Zach Brown, Chris Hudson, Tommy Muska, and Zac Zahirniak. Honorary pallbearers will be the West Fire Department, City of West Employees and Council, and 4th Degree Knights of Columbus. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Education Fund for Joey's children at Pointwest Bank in West or to the charity of one's choice.
