Jose A. Perez, age 74, of Abbott, formerly of Chalchiutes, Zacatecas, Mexico, passed away Wednesday evening, September 28, 2005 at Providence Health Center in Waco. A rosary will be recited 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 5:00 p.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, with Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Burial will be held at a later date in Chalchiutes Zacatecas, Mexico. Mr. Perez was born on August 30, 1931 in Chalchiutes Zacatecas, Mexico, the son of Jesus and Pascuala (Lopez) Perez. He attended schools in Mexico. In 1949, he was united in marriage to Antonia Arce in Mexico. She preceded him in death on September 26, 1982. He then married Constancia Chavez on February 14, 1995 in West. Jose worked for Monthei Feeds in Leroy for over twenty-five years until his retirement in 1997. His family was very important to him and he enjoyed spending time with them. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West. His parents, two sons, Emilio Perez and Jose Antonio Perez; five brothers and one sister, all precede him in death. Survivors include his wife, Constancia Perez of Abbott; four sons, Javier Perez and wife Imelda, Efrain Perez and wife Anna, all of Chalchiutes Zacatecas, Mexico, Jose A. Perez and wife Irma of West, Lino Perez and wife Gabina of Romeoville, IL, and Benito Perez and wife Maria of Abbott; one daughter, Emma Castaneda and husband Joaquin of Chalchiutes Zacatecas, Mexico; two brothers, Manuel Perez and wife Esther and Miguel Perez, all of Chalchiutes Zacatecas, Mexico; thirty-five grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Pallbearers will be Ernesto Perez, Jose Perez, Rolondo Perez, Lino Perez Jr., Emilio Perez Jr. and Jesus Castaneda. Memorials may be made to the family or the charity of your choice.
