Jonnie E. Payne, age 88, of West, passed away Thursday morning, January 14, 2016 at West Rest Haven in West. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 18, 2016 at St. Marys Catholic Church in West, with Dr. John Crowder and Rev. Ed Karasek officiating. Graveside services will be held 3:00 p.m. Monday at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Ft. Worth, with Dr. Mike Milburn officiating. The family will receive visitors from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel. Jonnie was born August 24, 1927 in San Angelo, the daughter of Mona (Williams) and Burney Warren Sr. At the age of 5, the Warren family moved to Meridian where Jonnie and her siblings attended school and she graduated from Meridian High School in 1944. She graduated from Brantly Douglas Business College in Ft. Worth in 1946. On June 21, 1947 she was united in marriage to Alvin R. Payne Jr. in Ft Worth. Al preceded her in death on March 7, 1996. Jonnie and Al moved to West in April of 1963 when they purchased Aderhold Funeral Home, where she remained actively involved on a daily basis. They also owned and operated West Furniture Company throughout the 1990's. She served as the Director of Volunteers at the West Community Hospital for 15 years. Jonnie was a very active and faithful member of the First Baptist Church of West, where she formerly taught children's Sunday School. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and playing bridge and "42". Jonnie especially enjoyed having Friday morning coffee with her friends at the Village Bakery. Jonnie is also preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter, Judy; a brother, Burney Warren Jr; and several brothers-in-law. Survivors include her sons, Larry Payne and wife Paula of Waco, Cappy Payne and wife Lynette of Plano and Robby Payne and wife Carla of West; a brother, Bill Warren and wife Lola; sisters, Betty Alexander, Patsy Clifford, Peggy Brantley and Linda McDowell and husband Neal; a sister-in-law, Joyce Warren; grandchildren, Valerie Payne, Tim Payne and wife Kim, Stephanie Carr and husband Preston, Brad Payne and wife Mandie, Shannon Cameron and husband Charles and Kaylee Payne; great grandchildren, Harrison, Tres, Kinley, Payne, Macie, Finn and two more on the way; many nieces, nephews and other relatives, including Glenda Chartier and husband Dennis; and many very special friends, including Nita Gerik, Carol Sandifer and Ann Crumpton. Active pallbearers are Tim Payne, Brad Payne, Preston Carr, Charles Cameron, John Warren, Jack Warren, Danny Brantley, Mike Alexander, Warren Brantley, Rick Baird, Jeff Brantley, David McDowell and Joseph Warren. Honorary pallbearers are all past and present employees of Aderhold Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund.
