Johnny Skerik, age 65, of West, passed away Tuesday night, June 21, 2022 at Kindred Hospital in Fort Worth.
A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Friday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel, followed by visitation until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 25, 2022 at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, with Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in West.
Johnny was born July 23, 1956 in Waco, the son of Frank and Annie (Soukup) Skerik. He was a graduate of West High School and was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West. Johnny enjoyed riding his four wheeler with his great nieces and great nephew, checking the cows and working in the fields. He was a lifetime farmer and was passionate about agriculture and his favorite time was always harvest season. Johnny loved spending time with his family and cherished the time with his nieces and nephew.
Johnny is preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother, Ernest Skerik.
Survivors include his two brothers, Bobby Skerik and wife Laura and Frank Skerik, all of West; niece, Cassie Peterson; nephew, Tyler Skerik and wife Kali; great nieces, Carley Ann and Jolee Grace; great nephew, Evan Lee; and many other relatives.
Pallbearers are Chris Dahl, Greg Evans, Ray Vybiral, Henry Soukup Jr., Henry Dirba Jr., and Brandon Soukup.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's School Endowment Fund.
