Johnny Chudej

Johnny Andrew Chudej, age 58, of Ross, passed away late Monday night, April 23, 2012 at Scott & White Hospital in Temple, from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. A rosary will be recited and Mass of Christian Burial celebrated 9:00 a.m. Saturday at St. Martin's Catholic Church, with Msgr. Isidore Rozycki as celebrant. Burial will follow at White Rock Cemetery near Ross. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Aderhold Funeral Home in West. Mr. Chudej was born June 30, 1953 in Waco, the son of Louis V. and Annie Agnes (Nors) Chudej. He attended schools in West and graduated from St. Mary's Catholic School in 1969 and West High School in 1973. On June 8, 1974, he was united in marriage to Barbara L. Brummett in West. She preceded him in death on July 26, 2009. Johnny worked as a produce manager for HEB for several years and the West Independent School District as Ground Maintenance Supervisor for 18 years. He was a member of St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tours. He loved his motorcycle and enjoyed fishing, playing poker and spending time with his family. He is also preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Jimmie Chudej. Survivors include a daughter, Michelle Holt and husband Douglas of Ganado; a son, Shawn Chudej and wife Heather of Gholson; two brothers, Ernest Chudej and Edward Chudej, both of West; five grandchildren, Dylan and Laci Holt and Jacob, Skyloh, Nicole Chudej; his dog, Bentley; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Active pallbearers are Bobby Chudej, Rob Buchanan, Charlie Mitchell, Johnnie Boone, George Morosky, Teddy Kocian, Steve Whited, Colby McHargue, Matt Nors, and Thomas Caldwell. Honorary pallbearers are Ernest Chudej, Edward Chudej, and Jeff Payton. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Christian Motorcyclists Assn., P.O. Box 9, Hatfield Arkansas 71945.
