Johnnie J. Gaidusek, Sr., age 79, of West, formerly of Waco, passed away late Saturday morning, March 19, 2005 in Waco. A rosary will be recited 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel by Dennis Sulak. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, with Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Military Graveside Rites will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, conducted by V.F.W. Post No. 4819 of West. Mr. Gaidusek was born August 23, 1925 in West, the son of Joseph and Marie (Zatopek) Gaidusek. He attended schools in West and graduated West High School in 1943. He then served his country with the United States Navy during World War II. After returning Johnnie married Margaret H. Sulak on June 18, 1948 in Abbott. She preceded him in death on April 21, 2004. He was a sales representative for Sherwin-Williams Co. in Waco for 37 years before retiring in 1985. Johnnie was also the longest serving member of the Board of Directors (32 years) and a sales rep for R.V.O.S.- Farmers Mutual Protective Association of Texas in Temple. He was a charter member and officer of the R.V.O.S. Ceska Lodge #109 where he received numerous sales awards. He was also a member of the K.J.T. Society #31; S.P.J.S.T. Lodge #66 Linden Hall where he was a past president and board member; Knights of Columbus in Waco; Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #4819 in West; and Catholic Workman. Johnnie was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption and a former member of St. Louis Catholic Church in Waco. Survivors include one son, Johnnie J. Gaidusek, Jr. and his wife Stephney of Valley Mills; three daughters, Beverly K. Urech and her husband Everett of Enterprise, Alabama, Barbara A. McMahan and her husband Michael of Waco, and Margaret Whiteside and her husband David of Lorena; a brother, Bernard Lee Gaidusek of Lacy Lakeview; a sister, Clara Mae Farmer of West; eight grandchildren, Justin, Westin, & Magain Gaidusek, Tracy, Anthony, & Joseph Urech, and Tyler & Christopher Whiteside; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Active pallbearers are Justin Gaidusek, Westin Gaidusek, Tyler Whiteside, Anthony Urech, Joseph Urech, Dennis Sulak, Tommy Sulak, Royce Zatopek, and Tommy Gaidusek. Honorary pallbearers are Christopher Whiteside, Magain Gaidusek, Tracy Urech, C.W. Cernosek, and past and present board members of R.V.O.S. Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Parish Center or the S.P.J.S.T. Scholarship Fund.
