John Tol "J.T." Alexander, age 75, of Aquilla, passed away late Friday morning, January 13, 2012 at his residence. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, with Rev. Gary Kreder officiating. Burial will follow at Bold Springs Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Mr. Alexander was born May 20, 1936 in Bynum, the son of Tol Barger and Marie (Urban) Alexander. He attended schools in Aquilla and was a graduate of Aquilla High School in 1954. He also studied auto body repair at T.S.T.C. On November 8, 1957 he was united in marriage to Alice E. Clements in Tokio. J.T. worked for General Tire and Rubber Company in Waco for 35 years before retiring in 1998. He also worked for American Derringer for 3 years and Seller's Sales in Waco. He was a member of the United Rubber Workers Union and the National Seashore Turtle Patrol on Padre Island. J.T. had his pilot's license. He enjoyed fishing, old school tinkering, could fix anything, restoring old Mustangs and classic cars, and building model airplanes. Survivors include his beloved wife of 54 years, Alice Alexander; two daughters, Teri Carter and husband Michael of The Colony and Paula Stein and husband Kevin of Milford; a sister, Betty Cox of Abbott; three grandchildren, Nolan, John Michael and Cooper Marie; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Active pallbearers are John Michael Carter, Nolan Carter, Cooper Marie Auerbach, Mark Cox, Will Cox, Carl Poteet, Curtis Poteet, and Aaron Prasifka. Honorary pallbearers are L.B. Etter and Doyle Rogers. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
