John I. Fuqua Jr., age 82, of Waco, passed away Thursday evening, November 2, 2006 at his residence. Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday at Waco Memorial Park, with Pastor Joe Palermo officiating. Mr. Fugua was born on September 12, 1924 in Waco, the son of John Irvin and Lena (Dean) Fuqua, Sr. He graduated from Waco High School. After his graduation, John enlisted in the United States Navy serving as a Seaman First Class during World War II. On November 21, 1949 he was united in marriage to Etha Moneyhun in Dallas. She preceded him in death on December 19, 1992. He worked as a service technician on office equipment for Remington Rand Corporation in Dallas for over 30 years until his retirement. John and Etha then worked as Park Administrators for the Corp of Engineers in Waco for a few years. He loved traveling and spent much of his leisure time outdoors camping and fishing. A sister, Evelyn Margaret Clifton, preceded him in death on June 15, 2005. Survivors include nephews, Larry Clifton and wife Denise of Leroy and Willard Clifton Jr. and wife Cindy of Salado; and a niece, Dee Huggins of Montgomery. Memorials may be made to The Leroy Church.
