John H. Aleman, age 98, of West, passed away Tuesday morning, October 14, 2008 at his residence. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Ron Hill officiating. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. Friday morning until service time. Mr. Aleman was born December 27, 1909 in Mexico, the son of Felix and Elvario (Elvida Hernandez) Aleman. He attended schools near West. On November 23, 1936 he was united in marriage to Meta Kelinske in Waco. She preceded him in death on September 23, 2005. John was a diesel mechanic for Van Winkle Pontiac in Dallas for many years before retiring in 1984. They then moved back to the West area after spending 50 years in Dallas. He was a member of the First United Church of West. John enjoyed working on cars, traveling, and hunting. He also loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include a son, Kenneth Wayne Aleman of Fruitvale; a brother, Pete Aleman of Dallas; two sisters, Minnie Gomez and Josephine Rodriguez, both of Dallas; two granddaughters, Tina Rackley and her fiance Mike McAlpin of Bellevue, Nebraska and Tamina Fowler and husband David of Decatur; seven great grandchildren, Matthew, Tristan, Michala, and Emilie Rackley, Ashley Franks, April Franks, and Corey Henson; a great great granddaughter, Na-Kayla Roblow; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Pallbearers are David Fowler, Corey Henson, Tristan Rackley, Matthew Rackley, and Michael Landers. Memorials may be made to Bluebonnet Hospice, 1105 Wooded Acres, Suite 270, Waco, TX 76710.
