Joe A. Wolf, age 76, of West, passed away late Thursday night, February 7, 2008 at his residence, surrounded by his family. A rosary will be recited 5:00 p.m. Sunday at the Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Anthony Odiong, with visitation to follow until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 3:00 p.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, with Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Military Graveside Rites will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery conducted by West V.F.W. Post No. 4819. Mr. Wolf was born September 30, 1931 near Tours, the oldest child of eight children born to Joseph and Mary (Schroeder) Wolf. He attended St. Martin's School and West High School before serving his country with the United States Navy. On August 1, 1952 he was united in marriage to Helen Hoeldtke at St. Martin's Church in Tours. They then moved to West to raise their family. Joe worked for General Tire and Rubber Company in Waco for 42 years before retiring in 1992. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption. He was also a member of Knights of Columbus Council No. 2305, S.P.J.S.T. Lodge No. 54, American Legion Post No. 478, St. Anne's Altar Society, United Rubber Workers Union Local No. 312 (where he held numerous local and national offices for over 25 years), Texas AFL-CIO and the Democratic National Party. Joe enjoyed playing Texas Hold 'Em and rooting for the Baylor Bears; he especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Survivors include his beloved wife of 55 years, Helen Wolf of West; three daughters, Carolyn Muska and husband A.J. of West, Brenda Schmidt and husband Richard of Garland, and Cathy Nors and husband James of Abbott; son, Joe A. Wolf, Jr. and wife Laura of Mansfield; nine grandchildren, Jeff Holloman and wife Becky, Jennifer Holloman, Heather Wellman and husband Kyle, Katie Nors and friend Jimmy, Aaron Nors and fiance Andrea, Joshua Nors, Stephanie, Meghan and Jonathan Wolf; seven great- grandchildren, Abby, Ally, Audrey and Brett Holloman, Jake, Ty and Reese Wellman; five brothers, Floyd Wolf and wife Irene, Robert Wolf and wife Marcella, Tom Wolf and wife JoAnn, Pat Wolf, and Bill Wolf and wife DeeDee, all of West; two sisters, Jeanne Roznos and husband Eugene of West and Patsy Rydel and late husband Larry of Arlington; brother in-law, Ervin Hoeldtke and wife Irene of Valley Mills, sister in-law Arlene Dieterich and husband Charles of Robinson and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Pallbearers are Jeff Holloman, Aaron Nors, Joshua Nors, Floyd D. Wolf, Doug Wolf, Thomas Wolf, Gene Roznos, Hayes Rydel, Duane Dieterich, and David Greenhill. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's Parish Center, Providence Hospice, or West Volunteer Ambulance Association.
