Joe A. Neslony

December 27, 1919 — March 16, 2016

A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Friday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel, followed by visitation until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 19, 2016 at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, with Msgr. Isidore Rozycki as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Joe was born December 27, 1919, in Yorktown, TX the son of Michael P. and Mary (Wasser) Neslony. He attended the old Davy School in DeWitt County. On May 8, 1945, he was united in marriage to Dorothy Fedro in San Antonio. Joe was a machinist and worked for H.C. Gailey in San Antonio and The Motor Shop and O.K. Machine and Tool in Waco. He was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bellmead where he served as an usher and the parish handyman. Joe helped to build Geneva Hall in Elm Mott and served as the hall vice president for more than 40 years. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing and drinking pivo. He especially loved being a leader for the Bellmead Boy Scout Troop when his children were young. Joe is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Edward Neslony, Daniel Neslony, Raymond Neslony, Engelbert Neslony and Bernard Neslony; sisters, Sue Wadhams, Rose Brandt and Dorothy Neslony; and a daughter-in-law, Geraldine Neslony. Survivors include his beloved wife of 70 years, Dorothy Neslony of Lacy Lakeview; daughter, Mary Jordan and husband Michael of Cedar Hill; sons, James Neslony and Jimmie Lou of Edmond, OK, David Neslony and wife Lisa of North Richland Hills, and Paul Neslony and wife Janie of Ross; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Jason Neslony, Jon Neslony, Eric Nemec, Wesley Roberts, Chris Tighe, Craig Hromadka, Raymond Hromadka Jr., and Rickey Atkins. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice. The family wants to extend a warm and heartfelt thanks to a special angel, Cathy Utsey, and to Providence Hospice for all of their love and support given to Joe and our family.
