Jimmie J. Bajer, age 74, of Waco, formerly of West, passed away late Saturday evening, April 1, 2006 at Providence Health Center in Waco. A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Monday at the Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, with visitation to follow until 8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in Waco, with Rev. Angelo Bertini as celebrant. Military Graveside Rites will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery near West. Jimmie was born September 1, 1931 in Gholson the son of Frank and Julie (Kucera) Bajer. He attended schools in the Gholson and West areas. On April 15, 1952 he was united in marriage to Ella Mae Stone in West. She preceded him in death on January 16, 1996. Also in 1952 he entered the United States Army and served during the Korean Conflict. He was discharged in 1954 and they moved to Waco to start their family. Jimmie worked in the maintenance department for the Waco Independent School District from 1966 until his retirement in 1998. He also worked for West Flour Mill and Rainbow Bakery. On March 7, 1998 he was united in marriage to Jo Anna (Ewing) Abel in Waco. Jimmie enjoyed dealing with antiques, woodworking, and playing the accordion. He was a good neighbor and loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He and his wife were members of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in Waco where he was also a member of the Men's Club of the Church and served as an usher. Jimmie was also a member of the V.F.W. Post No. 2148 in Waco, a life member of the Amvets Post No. 72 in Hillsboro, and the K.J.T. Society No. 31 in West. He is preceded in death by a son, Jimmy J. Bajer, Jr., his parents and a brother, Frank Bajer, Jr. Survivors include his wife, Jo Anna of Waco; two daughters, Judith Kaska and her husband Steve, Jr. of Waco and Janet Bezdek and her husband Michael of Abbott; two brothers, Ludvik Bajer of West and Edward Bajer of Dallas; one sister, Dorothy Vavra of Temple; three grandchildren, Jeff Bezdek, Amanda Ziegler and her husband Chris, and James Bezdek; three step-daughters, Jo Beth Peterson of Georgetown, Debra Lynn Motley and her husband, Bill of Phoenix AZ, and Mary Ann Deuvall and her husband Clif of Waco; many step grandchildren, stepgreat-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Pallbearers are Jimmy Price, Louis Bajer, Warren Vavra, Dennis Kucera, Brian Motley, Bill Motley, Chris Ziegler and Michael Waters. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the charity of your choice.
