Jimmie D. Bannert, age 63, of West, passed away Sunday evening, June 1, 2008 at his residence. Memorial services will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel, with his son, Jimmie Bannert officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by West V.F.W. Post No. 4819. Mr. Bannert was born on May 3, 1945 in San Angelo, the son of Joe and Evelyn (Bokin) Bannert. He served his country with the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He married Tamzinna Jane Eckert on October 1, 2005 in West. Jimmie was a master pipe fitter, working for Pan Am in Los Alamos, NM for seven years and in Carlsbad, NM for 5 years. He was a member of the New Mexico Pipe Trades Union Local No. 412, the Houndsmen Association, and the Albuquerque Homing Pigeons Club. Jimmie was also a member of Park Street Baptist Church in Greenville. He enjoyed raising English bull dogs, gardening, ceramics, fishing, and hunting. Survivors include his wife Janie of West; two sons, Ronnie Bannert and fianc Lizzy Blanco of Bellmead, and Jimmie Bannert and wife Namgyo of Frisco; one daughter, Deanne Sue Cureton and husband Timothy of Oregon; one step-son, Elton Marsh and wife Lindsay of West; two step-daughters, Joanna Smith and husband Greg of Bryan, and Tamzinna Sutterfield and husband Michael of West; one sister, Clara Bannert of San Angelo; fifteen grandchildren; his best friends, Joyce and Wayne Daughtery; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family to help with expenses.
