Jim J.D. Deal

Jim "J.D." Deal, age 68, of Elm Mott, passed away late Wednesday evening, November 15, 2017 at his residence. Memorial Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 20, 2017 at the Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, with Rev. David Dover officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by the West Veterans Honor Guard. Jim was born May 19, 1949 in Manila, Arkansas, the son of David and Erby (Humbrey) Deal. He was a graduate of Manila High School. Jim served his country for 23 years with the United States Navy and fought in the Vietnam War. On April 3, 1974 he was united in marriage to Royce Ann Morrow in Carson City, Nevada. Royce Ann preceded him in death on June 22, 2015. Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing and tinkering with cars. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. Jim is also preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jack and Richard Deal; and sisters, Rita Vandiver, Betty Clinton and Dory Eubanks. Survivors include his children, Phaedra Deal of Elm Mott, Jason Deal and wife Libby of Los Alamitos, California, and Chuck Deal and Amanda Junek and husband Tim, all of Elm Mott; grandchildren, Raymond Obed, Kristen Bellon, LaVon Lammers, Luke Deal, Faye Deal and Royce Junek; great grandsons, Jasper and Zachary; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
