Jeffrey "Jeff" Jares, age 49, of Birome, passed away early Sunday morning, November 5, 2017 at Hill Regional Hospital in Hillsboro. Memorial Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Sunday, November 19, 2017 at the Birome Community Center, with Jimmy Tucker officiating. Jeff was born May 21, 1968 in West, the son of Don and Dovie (Bell) Jares. He attended St. Mary's School, Ross School and was a 1986 graduate of West High School. On November 19, 1994 he was united in marriage to Clare Mills in Meridian. Jeff was a welder, working for several area businesses including the Country Blacksmith, Stelco Industries and Altec Inc. He was a member of St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tours. Jeff liked to BBQ, volunteer for local fundraising events and take care of the Birome Community Center. He especially loved spending time with his family, coaching softball and helping his kids with their show cows. Jeff is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Jason Jares and a sister, Janice Jares. Survivors include his wife, Clare Jares of Birome; his children, Chad Kerr and wife Holli of Owasso, Oklahoma, Julia Hollister and husband Dylan of Mt. Calm, and Jordan Louise Jares and James Jares, both of Birome; his sisters, Jennifer Ashley and husband Mike and Judy Trevino and husband Johnny; parents-in-law, Ray and Julia Mills; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives. His granddaughters, Payton, Addilyn and Kailyn were the apple of his eye.
