Jeannie Witt Tabor

Jeannie (Witt) Tabor, age 69, of Austin, formerly of McLennan County, passed away Thursday morning, February 28, 2019 at her residence in Austin. Memorial Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 9, 2019 at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, with Rev. Terry McElrath officiating, followed by lunch and fellowship at the West VFW Post. Private inurnment at White Rock Cemetery in Ross will be held at a later date. Jeannie was born July 2, 1949 in West, the daughter of the late Joe and Lydia (Hill) Witt. She attended McGregor High School near Waco where she excelled at and was very popular as a twirler in the marching band before graduating in 1967. Jeannie continued many relationships with her classmates and took pride in being a McGregor Alumni. She was the comptroller for Cody Builders Supply in Austin for the past 18 years. Jeannie had many work friends who she considered like family. To them she was known as very kind, charming and the "sweetest gal". Throughout her life, Jeannie played the flute. In her younger years, she enjoyed riding and tending to her horses and dogs. For the last many years, she cared for and had the company of her beloved cats. Survivors include a son, Sammy Foster; a sister, Carol Cherry; two nephews, Thomas Cherry and Jeff Cherry and family; a host of very dedicated friends, including her dear friend Stacy Sass; her cats, Tessa and Abbey; and many other relatives throughout Central Texas with whom she stayed in contact and loved. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to your local Humane Society, White Rock Cemetery or the charity of your choice.
