Imogene M. "Jeannie" Mikuda, age 83, of West, formerly of Mesquite, passed away early Saturday morning, September 4, 2021, at West Rest Haven in West. A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Wednesday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel, followed by visitation until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 9, 2021 at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, with Rev. Timothy Vaverek as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Jeannie was born July 16, 1938 in Tours, the daughter of Joseph B. and Louise (Uptmore) Lucian. She was a 1956 graduate of St. Edward Academy in Dallas. On June 22, 1957 she was united in marriage to George Mikuda in Penelope. Jeannie was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Dallas before moving back to West. She was also a member of the SPJST Lodge #84 in Dallas. Being a Mother and homemaker was her greatest joy. Jeannie enjoyed working crossword and word-find puzzles, cooking, baking and going to play the slots in Oklahoma. She loved spending time with her family, especially playing bingo and other games with her grandchildren. Jeannie is preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Betty Hlavaty; a brother, Bobby Lucian; brothers-in-law, Bernard Hlavaty, Tommy Hennig, and Elton "Shorty" Stuckly; and a nephew, Gary Wayne Hlavaty. Survivors include her beloved husband of 64 years, George Mikuda of West; her children, Mary Lou Mynar and husband George of West, Ed Mikuda and wife Lana of Mesquite, and Donna Mikuda of Mabank; her grandchildren, Matthew Mikuda, Crystal Mynar and fiancé Patrick Havel, Julie Pricer and husband Hap, and Amanda Grones and husband Ricky; great grandchildren, Mallory Sinkule, Aiden Howard, Caleb Grones, and Devin Grones; sisters, Shirley Hennig and Sandi Hooks and husband Ricky; a sister-in-law, Evelyn Stuckly; and many special nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Bernard Hlavaty Jr., Elton Stuckly Jr., Glenn Hennig, Matthew Mikuda, Hap Pricer and Ricky Grones. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's Cemetery Association.
