Jeanne Squillace, age 82, of West, passed away Thursday afternoon, October 11, 2007 at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center in Waco. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Aderhold Funeral Home in West, with Rev. Ed Karasek officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery near West. The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Mrs. Squillace was born on September 16, 1925 in Temple, the daughter of Pinkney and Elsie (Westmoreland) Hill. She graduated from Temple High School in 1942 and Hillcrest Nursing School in 1947 as a registered nurse. On May 5, 1950, she was united in marriage to Anthony "Tony" Squillace in New York. He preceded her in death on January 29, 2007. They lived in New York, Houston, and West. Jeanne worked as a registered nurse all of her life, working in the surgery department in New York. She also worked in surgery in Houston and worked for St. Joseph's Hospital and Hermann Hospital in Houston. She worked for West Rest Haven until her retirement in 1983. She is also preceded in death by one son, Michael Squillace; three brothers, Durwood Hill, Sherwood Hill, and Robert Hill; and one sister, Wanda Bishop. Survivors include one daughter, LuAnne Baugh and husband Melvin of San Antonio; one brother, Joe Hill and wife Peggy of West; two sisters, Camille Hutchens and husband John of Ft. Worth and Gloria Gould of Santa Cruz, Ca.; two grandsons, Justin Blake Baugh of San Antonio and Michael Patrick Squillace, Jr. of Gholson; one great-granddaughter, Whitney Squillace; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Pallbearers will be John Hutchens, Joe Hill, Justin Baugh, Melvin Baugh, Ronnie Hill, and John Ive. Memorials may be made to the Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center.
