Jeanette Holecek, age 74, of West, passed away Wednesday evening, April 7, 2021 at West Rest Haven in West. A rosary will be recited 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel by Mary Jo Kaska, followed by visitation until 4:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 12, 2021 at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, with Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery near West. Limited capacity, facial masks, and social distancing are encouraged at all services. Jeanette was born July 2, 1946 in West, the daughter of Edwin and Polly (Kucera) Volcik. She attended West Schools and was a 1964 graduate of West High School. On July 12, 1969 she was united in marriage to James "Jima" Holecek in West. Jima preceded her in death on May 6, 2017. Jeanette was a faithful member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West and frequently attended Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Abbott when her grandson, Wyatt, was an altar server. She was very proud to be a longtime Associate Director of Westfest, where she answered the phones during the festival and throughout the year. She worked for American Income Life Insurance Company, Keens Department Store, Dr. Billy D. Pierce and TSTC. Jeanette enjoyed attending First Baptist Church women's Bible study, managing the concession stands at the West softball/baseball fields for over 25 years, going to the West Public Library, reading, visiting with her many friends, and taking road trips. If you know Jeanette you know she never met a stranger. She loved spending time with friends and family, especially her grandchildren. Jeanette is also preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Edwina Deiterman, Delores Volcik, and Cecilia Ann Volcik; and a brother-in-law, Erwin Janek. Survivors include her sons, John Holecek and wife Tammie of Abbott and Jason Holecek and wife Alisha of Denton; her beloved grandchildren, Wyatt, Lincoln, Makenna, and Brynlee; a brother, Harry Volcik and wife Rose; her sisters, Vicki Janek and Loretta Volcik; a brother-in-law, Daniel Deiterman; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Active pallbearers are Travis Volcik, Alan Volcik, Darryl Barton, Aaron Maler, Robert Pruitt, and Matt Beseda. Honorary pallbearers are past and present Westfest Directors and Associate Directors, Piggy Clark, Donna Beckham, Marci Pruitt, Betty Dupree, Evelyn Kettler, Peggy Holecek, Donna Pustejovsky, James Miller, Arric "Cajun" Vacek, and her grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to West Library Association.
