Jason Dudik

Jason Dudik, age 41, of Penelope, passed away early Sunday morning, March 20, 2022 the result of an accident near Penelope. A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Thursday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, followed by visitation until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 25, 2022 at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, with Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery near Penelope. Jason was born December 9, 1980 in Waco, the son of Auther and Susan (Poehls) Dudik. He attended school in Penelope and was a 1999 graduate of Penelope High School. Jason was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West. He started working at Birome Gin in 2008, however it seemed much longer because he accomplished so much while there and at Walton Grain, the ranch, and the Birome Community Center. He currently was a truck driver for the Birome Gin. Jason enjoyed fishing with his nephew and shooting guns. He loved spending time with his family and friends, especially hosting crawfish boils. Jason is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Robert and Ruth Dudik; an uncle, Mike "Snake" Adamson; and his cousins, Derek and Keith Kolar, and Emily Hutyra. Survivors include his parents, Auther and Susan Dudik of Hubbard; his sister, Lindsey Wiley and husband John of West; his maternal grandparents, Albin "Benny" and Adele Poehls; a nephew and niece, Gavin Wren and Emma Wiley; and many other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Tanner Adamson, Justin Reed, Steven Don Jennings, Brandon Reynolds, Lance Reynolds, Ryan Janek, Robert Hendrix, and Josh Mynar. Honorary Pallbearers are Gerry Kasberg, Danny Matula, and Fred Beeson. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Penelope Volunteer Fire Department.
