Janis Greene

Janis (Lee) Greene, age 82, of West, passed away late Monday evening, November 1, 2021 at Ascension Seton Medical Center in Austin. Funeral Service will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 6, 2021 at Aderhold Funeral Home in West, with Rev. Gaston Warner officiating. Graveside Services will be held 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Rosemound Cemetery in Waco. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Limited capacity, facial masks, and social distancing are encouraged at all services. Janis was born January 19, 1939 in Aquilla, the daughter of Joe and Letha (Glenn) Lee. She attended school in Aquilla and was a 1957 graduate of Waco High School. On January 3, 2010 she was united in marriage to Jim Greene in Rocksprings, Texas. Janis was a member of the First United Methodist Church in West. She worked for IBM in Waco for over 25 years before she went to work for H.D. Supply until she retired in 2006. Janis enjoyed traveling, taking care of her dog Gracie, reading, looking at Facebook, hummingbirds and playing dominoes. She was a member of IBM Quarter Century Club. Janis is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Raymond Lee and Jack Lee; and a sister, Dorothy Penoyer. Survivors include her beloved husband of 11 years, Jim Greene of West; a son, Emanuel Mitchell; two sisters, Wanda Cox and Jo Leta Davis; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Shawn Pierce, Shawn Kalina, Randy Davis, Dylan Alligood, Jeremy Campbell, Curtic Cox, and Ricky Norton. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church in West.
