Janice Kaye Kroll Moravec, age 73, of Waco, passed away early Monday morning, April 17, 2023 at St. Catherine's Center in Waco.
Funeral Service will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 24, 2023 at the Peace Lutheran Church in Woodway, with Rev. Garrett Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West.
Janice was born February 16, 1950 in Waco, the daughter of the late Spencer and Amanda (Huse) Martin. She attended schools in Waco and was a 1968 graduate of Richfield High School, prior to attending Baylor University and McLennan Community College where she received an associate degree in accounting. On April 14, 1989 she was united in marriage to Henry Moravec in West. Janice was a very active and faithful member of the Peace Lutheran Church in Woodway. She was also a member of the Aggie Moms, National Honor Society Phi Theta Kappa, National Dean's List, Grief Share Facilitators, and a Certified Lutheran Organist. She worked for several area businesses including Baylor University, Command Performance, Van Taylor, Fleetwood Mobile Homes, and Longhorn Steakhouse. Janice enjoyed reading, roller skating, playing the organ, and attending all church activities. She loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include her beloved husband of 34 years, Henry Moravec Jr. of Waco; her children, Karolyn Bear of Waco and Kent Kristopher Kroll and wife Karissa of Cypress; her grandchildren, Kristopher and Tena Nelson, Christen and Chris Dougherty, Kace Kroll, Ares Dow, Athena Dow, and Keaton Kroll; great grandchildren, Andrew and Shelby Parker, Benjamin Nelson, Layla Nelson, Caember Nelson, Amberly Nelson, Ryleigh Nelson, Landon Nelson, and Amanda Vana; a great great grandson, Pierson Boyett; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Active pallbearers are Willie Moravec, Raymond Shelton Jr., Steve Hahn, Martin Garcia, Sam Drake, and Steve Melde. Honorary pallbearers are members of Peace Lutheran Church, past and present students of Trinity Lutheran Parochial School, Anthony Rehwaldt, Harry Harelik, and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Peace Lutheran Organist Fund or Fuzzy Friends Rescue.
