Janice Hromadka

Janice Kathryn (Brown) Hromadka, age 68, of West, passed away early Monday morning, May 27, 2024 in West.

A rosary will be recited 4:00 p.m. Sunday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel, followed by visitation until 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 3, 2024 at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, with Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant, assisted by Deacon Ronnie Sykora. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.

Janice was born June 7, 1955 in Waco, the daughter of Francis and Emma (Laubert) Brown. She attended schools in Tours and West and was a 1973 graduate of West High School. On September 2, 1974 she was united in marriage to Raymond Joe Hromadka Jr. in Tours. Janice was a faithful member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughter of America Court #829. She worked for Pointwest Bank for over 50 years as an assistant vice president, before retiring on November 10, 2022. Janice enjoyed going to Canton, taking the scenic route on vacations, tending to her flowers, gardening, being outdoors, working with crafts, traveling, and camping at the lake. She loved spending time with her family, especially attending all of her grandchildren's activities.

Janice is preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Jerry Brown; parents-in-law, Lillie and Raymond Joe Hromadka Sr.; brothers-in-law, Kenny Lenart and Bennie Mynar Sr.; and an infant brother, Donald Paul Brown.

Survivors include her beloved husband of 50 years, Raymond Joe Hromadka Jr. of West; her children, Raymond Joe Hromadka III and wife Jennifer of Axtell, Craig Hromadka and wife Mary of West, and Kayla Seghi and husband Albert of Hot Sulphur Springs, CO; her grandchildren, Tanner, Kate, Cole, Landree, Jase, and Jack; two sisters, Doris  Hessel and husband Robert, and Sharon Lenart; four brothers, Robert Brown and wife Elaine, Larry Brown and wife Bernice, Kenneth Brown and wife Vicki, and Kevin Brown and wife Sandy; three sisters-in-law, Treva Brown, Lillie Marie Mynar, and Deborah Hromadka and Ben Fish; two brothers-in-law, James Hromadka and wife Charlotte, and Larry Hromadka Sr. and wife Cindy; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Active pallbearers are James Brown, Tim Brown, Tyler Brown, Bennie Mynar Jr., Jimbo Hromadka, and Larry Hromadka Jr. Honorary pallbearers are all her nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's School Endowment Fund or to the West Volunteer Ambulance Association.
