Janet Crain

Janet Crain, age 72, of West, passed away early Tuesday morning, May 20, 2014 at Kindred Hospital in Dallas. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, with Rev. Terry McElrath officiating. Burial will follow at Closner Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 1:00 p.m. Thursday until service time at the funeral home. Janet was born November 3, 1941 in Elm Mott, the daughter of Leon and Gladys Wilma (Heitmiller) Willig. She graduated from West High School in 1960. She then went to 4-C Business College and received a secretarial degree, and then on to Baylor University for studies in a librarian degree. Janet worked for the Masonic Grand Lodge in Waco for forty years until her retirement. She was a resident of West Rest Haven for 15 years and loved her family there where she volunteered for several years calling all families of birthday residents to help with the monthly parties. She enjoyed reading, watching old movies, playing bingo and rocking cards, crocheting, cooking and baking. Janet was a avid Elvis Presley fan and collected all his memorabilia over the years. She enjoyed visiting with family and friends and never knew a stranger. She was a member of First United Church in West. She is preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include a son, David Crain and wife Joanie of Grabill, IN; a daughter Cindy Naor and husband Itzak of Dallas; a brother, Weldon Willig and wife Carolyn; a sister, Carol Sparks and husband Jerry; five grandchildren, Mya Beitsch and husband Jefferey, Sivan Naor, Roz Naor, USAF 2nd Lt. Jade Crain, and Gracie Crain; two great-grandchildren, Shifra Bracha and Yisroel Meir; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Active pallbearers will be her family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the West Rest Haven Disaster Relief Fund.
