Mary Janelle (Boerner) Macicek, age 79, of Richardson, passed away early Tuesday morning, December 5, 2023 at her home.
A rosary will be prayed 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 1:30 p.m. Monday, December 11, 2023 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Richardson, with Rev. Stephen Ingram as celebrant. Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Cemetery near West.
Janelle was born May 22, 1944 in Fort Worth, the daughter of Louis and Vera (Zipper) Boerner. She was a 1962 graduate of Our Lady of Victory/Nolan Catholic High School in Fort Worth. On February 20, 1965 she was united in marriage to Marvin Macicek in Fort Worth. Janelle was a very faithful and active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Richardson where she led the Mother Teresa Hospital Ministry and was a Eucharistic Minister. She was also a member of several ACTS Retreat Teams. She served as president of the Richardson/Garland Aggie Mom's Club. She worked as a Registered Nurse and was beloved by physicians and her patients. Janelle enjoyed playing Bonanza with her friends, dancing, listening to her "oldies" music, remembering birthdays and anniversaries, attending annual Thanksgiving reunions in Pilot Point, and everything Christmas. Most of all, she loved her family and doing anything she could to make them feel special. She was known for her lasagna, her cut-out cookies, and so much more.
Janelle is preceded in death by her parents; her parents-in-law, Frank and Martha Macicek; sister-in-law, Helen Stacha-Reifein; and her brothers-in-law, John Stacha and John Trampel.
Survivors include her beloved husband of 58 years, Marvin Macicek of Richardson; her children, Marla Holcomb of College Station, Amy Macicek of Ashland, OR, Michael Macicek and wife Amber of College Station, Mark Macicek and wife Erin of The Woodlands, and David Macicek of Lubbock; her grandchildren, Haley, Zach, Savannah, Ryan, Luke, Abby, Katie, and Josie; a sister, Arlene Trampel; a brother-in-law, Larry Macicek and wife Charla; a brother-in-law, Will Reifein; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers are Michael Macicek, Mark Macicek, David Macicek, Zach Holcomb, Ryan Macicek, and Luke Macicek.
