Jane Margaret (Major) Ellison, age 90, of West, passed away early Tuesday afternoon, November 23, 2021, at Providence Health Center in Waco. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at the First Baptist Church in West, with Dr. John Crowder officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery near West. The family will receive visitors from 5:oo to 7:00 p.m. Monday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel. Jane was born January 7, 1931 in Milford, Texas, the daughter of Herbert and Ozella (Whitson) Major. She was a Salutatorian and 1948 graduate of Milford High School. Jane then attended Hillsboro Junior College where she received an Associates Degree in General Studies prior to attending Texas State College for Women in Denton where she received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Vocational Home Economics. On June 20, 1953 she was united in marriage to Glenn Ellison in Milford. Glenn preceded her in death on October 3, 2007. Jane worked as a Vocational Home Economics Teacher for many area schools, including Maypearl High School, Moran High School, Penelope High School and Poteet High School, until her retirement in May of 1981. Jane enjoyed crocheting, knitting, sewing, cooking, working outside in the flower beds, landscaping her yard, and fishing. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Jane was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of West. She was also a member of Junior Sesame Club, State Vocational Homemaking Teachers Association of Texas, and Retired McLennan County Teachers Association. Jane is also preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Byron "B. T." Major, Myron Major, and Elbert Major; sisters, Jewell Major, Clelialee Page, Elizabeth Price, and Billie Pannill; and nephews, James Major and Michael Major. Survivors include her children, Charles Brent Ellison and wife Cindy of Carthage, Randall Glenn Ellison and wife Mary of West, and Melanie Jane Teague and partner Alan Dale Moffat of North Richland Hills; sister-in-law, Mary Frances Westfall; grandchildren, Shea Davis and husband Mike, Glenn "Brent" Ellison, Deandra Ellison Crowley and husband Sean, Krista Teague and fiance Kelly Morris, and Jarrett Teague; great grandchildren, Ashton Davis, Aubryn Davis, Emilia "Emmy" Crowley, and Gabrielle "Elle" Crowley; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Active pallbearers are Dale Dunlap, Ryan Dunlap, Ricky Sullins, Lance Sullins, Wayne Leek, Robert Hugh Cobb, Leon Torres, and John Chaney. Honorary pallbearers are her nephews, Thomas Major, James Page, David Major, Myron Major, Charlie Major and Gary Price. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shriner's Hospital for Children or the First Baptist Church of West. The family would like to thank her caregiver of five years, Joyce Freeman, and special friends, Marcheta Langford, Joyce Beaubien, Leon and Gloria, for all of their love and compassion given to our mother.
