James "Jim" Woosley

James Kenneth Woosley, age 87, of Elm Mott, was called home to his Lord and Savior on March 20, 2025 from his residence.

Born on March 20, 1938, in Meridian, Texas - James K was the son of Rhea (Cooper) Woosley and Hiram Woosley Sr. He was a 1956 graduate of Meridian High School, and attended Sul Ross Teacher's College in Alpine, Texas. Jim worked at his family feed store "Woosley Feeds" until 1958 when he enlisted in The United States Army. Jim proudly served his country during the Korean War and The Berlin Crisis achieving the rank of Specialist 4th Class before his honorable discharge in 1962. After his time in the service, he became a dedicated self-made provider. From custom harvesting, cattle hauling, building homes in Ruidoso, NM and along the Texas Coast, multiple Jim's Used Cars car lots, to his RV park - Waco RV Resort. A passionate entrepreneur - Jim always provided for his family. On September 27, 2008 he embarked on a new chapter of life when he married Diane (Grimland) Remington in Elm Mott, Texas. Together, they created a loving home filled with warmth and laughter. Jim was a long tall Texan who loved to work, country-western dance, play his guitar, fly airplanes, ride motorcycles, travel, tell stories, and finding a good bargain.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Hiram Woosley Jr. and Henry Woosley; and his sister, Helen Horn.

Survivors include his beloved wife of almost 17 years, Diane Woosley of Elm Mott; his son, Todd Woosley and wife Debby of Ripley, MS and daughter, Shana Woosley and husband Roy Criswell of West; his granddaughter, Tiffany Woosley of West; his grandson Christian Hudson and significant other Payton Ferguson of West; his great-grandson, Preston "PJ" Sparks; his loyal big brown dog, CoCo; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a very long list of friends.

Jim Woosley will be deeply missed by many.
