James Robert Morrow, Sr., age 86, of Elm Mott, passed away early Monday morning, April 4, 2011 at his residence. Graveside services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday at Bold Springs Cemetery near West, with Rev. Lawrence Junek officiating. Military Graveside Rites will follow. Mr. Morrow was born October 18, 1924 in Trimble, TN, the son of Elroy and Mamie (Hornbeck) Morrow. He attended schools in Yorkville, TN. On October 21, 1944, he was united in marriage to Ethel Drake in Wesley, RI. She preceded him in death on December 5, 2005. James served his country with the United States Navy during WWII, the Korean Conflict, and the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged at the rank of E-7 after a career of 30 years in 1970. James then operated a Taxi service in Hanford, CA for 12 years. He enjoyed reading, camping, and traveling. James is also preceded in death by a brother, Charles Morrow; and two sisters, Betty Applewhite and Mary Ellen Aoell. Survivors include a daughter, Royce Deal and husband Jim of Elm Mott; two sons, Charles Morrow of Temple and James R. Morrow, Jr. of Jefferson City, MO; a brother, Bobby Morrow and wife Bobbie Sue of Yorkville, TN; 12 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
