James "Jimmy" Sinkule, age 78, of Birome, passed away late Tuesday afternoon, December 31, 2019, at his residence. A rosary will be recited and Mass of Christian Burial celebrated 9:30 a.m. Monday, January 6, 2020, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Abbott, with Rev. Brijil Lawrence as celebrant, assisted by Deacon Denver Crawley. Burial will follow at Fatima Cemetery near Abbott. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Aderhold Funeral Home in West. Jimmy was born February 19, 1941 in West, the son of Jim and Martha (Holy) Sinkule. He attended St. Mary's School in West and West High School, where he played the Trumpet in the High School Trojan Band. On May 18, 1963, he was united in marriage to Marcella Nors in Abbott. Jimmy was a farmer, gin owner and operated Sinkule Construction. He was a faithful member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Penelope. He was also a member of the KJT Society #11. Jimmy was a very simple man and enjoyed fishing, listening to Polka music, giving away flashlight ball point pens, buying Texas Lotto and scratch-offs tickets, and helping everyone because "no one was a stranger". He loved spending time with his family and friends and was known to all as "Uncle Jimmy". He had a very special place in his heart for his dogs, especially his latest "Buddy". Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, William "Bill" Sinkule. Survivors include his beloved wife of 56 years, Marcella Sinkule of Birome; his children, Vincent Sinkule and wife Monica of Penelope, Dennis Sinkule and wife Mary of West, and Elaine Goff and husband Rick of Leroy; grandchildren, Ted Gallia, Jackie Chamberlain and husband David, Phillip Gallia and wife Jordyn, Kara Priest and husband Brandon, Rebekah Hood and husband Chase, Shelby Whitworth and husband Jared, Kailey Kolar and Rachel Sinkule; great grandchildren, Arabella, Lilah and Cora; a brother, Tommy Sinkule and wife Margaret; a sister, Rose Marie Favors and husband David; a sister-in-law, Angeline Sinkule; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Active pallbearers are Phillip Gallia, Doug Sinkule, Dale Sinkule, Carl Sinklue, Jim Sinkule, Phillip Kramer, David Nors and Kevin Nors. Honorary pallbearers are Charlie Hajek, Cruz Silva, Rusty Johnson, Preston Johnson, Albert Rejcek, Marshall Peterson, Manuel Ramirez, Luke Montgomery, Mike Kaluza, Bradley Nors, Robert Kris, Bryan Johnson, Tonya Taylor, Bernie Svacina, Justin Reed, Richard "RJ" Nors and the Penelope Volunteer Fire Department. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Penelope Volunteer Fire Department, Nativity of the BVM Catholic Church in Penelope, or to the charity of your choice.
