James Willis Holder, born on September 10, 1951, in West, Texas, and passed away on August 17, 2024 in Greenville, Texas.
Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 14, 2024 at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, with Dr. Britt Clay officiating. The family will receive visitors from 10:00 a.m. Saturday until service time.
James grew up in central Texas and attended University High School in Waco. On July 14, 1969, he married Susan Miles and they had two children, Joel and Alicia. He and Susan divorced in 1980. James worked most of his life as a mechanic and maintenance supervisor at several manufacturing companies in the Greenville area, including Rubbermaid. He loved to teach his grandkids things they wanted to know and things he wanted them to know. He was a very patient instructor and was especially close to Dakota and Caitlyn. He enjoyed raising cows, listening to country music (mostly Hank Williams Jr.), and watching Nascar. He was witty, determined, hard working, genuine, and a honest man.
James was preceded in death by his parents, James William Holder and Josephine Steele and his beloved sisters, Cathy Holder and Patsy Horton.
James leaves many good memories that will be cherished by his daughter, Alicia Holder; his son, Joel Holder; his grandson, Dakota Holder; his brand new granddaughter, Bailey Clay Holder; his granddaughter, Caitlyn Bigham; and grandchildren, Breanna Reed, Shelby Holder, and Randi Holder.
