James Harold McCullough Jr., age 55, of West, passed away early Tuesday afternoon, July 7, 2015 near his home. Graveside services will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 13, 2015 at St. Mary's Cemetery near West, with Pastor Pat Cummings officiating. The family will receive visitors from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday at Aderhold Funeral Home in West. James was born November 17, 1959 in Beeville, the son of James H. McCullough and Mary Alice (Hill) James. He attended schools in Waco and Robinson. James was a 1978 graduate of Robinson High School and he received an associate degree from Texas State Technical School in Waco. On February 14, 1981, he was united in marriage to Karen Elaine James in Waco. James was employed with M&M Mars for 14 years. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Waco. He was also a member of the American Quarter Horse Association and the Texas Quarter Horse Association. James enjoyed training horses. He especially loved his family and being "Pop" to his three grandchildren. James is also preceded in death by his grandmother, Mary Lillie Hill; his father-in-law, C.L. James; and his daughter-in-law, Elizabeth McCullough. Survivors include his beloved wife of 34 years, Karen McCullough of West; two sons, John McCullough of Woodway and Daniel McCullough of West; grandchildren, Katherine McCullough, Dustin McCullough and Payton McCullough; his mother, Mary Alice James; brother, Darrell McCullough; sister, Tammie McCullough; mother-in-law, Bee Cendrowski and her husband Joe; brother-in-law, Carlton James and wife Shelly; an aunt, Billie Boatman and husband Marion; special cousins, Roger Easter and Charlie Easter; special friend, Earl Jackson; and many other relatives and friends. Honorary pallbearers are John McCullough, Daniel McCullough, Darrell McCullough, Carlton James, Roger Easter, Earl Jackson and Freddie Kaluza. Memorials may be made to the West Volunteer Fire Department or the charity of your choice.
