Jack Talbott

Jack Junior Talbott, age 83, of West, passed away early Friday morning, March 14, 2008 at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center in Waco. Memorial services will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, with Rev. Ann Hitt officiating. Mr. Talbott was born on October 31, 1924 in Jackson, Michigan, the son of Hartsel Leland and Olive Olivia (Sutton) Talbott. He attended school in Jackson, Michigan and graduated from Hudson High School. On January 10, 1948, he was united in marriage to Viola Jeanne Mills in Angola, Indiana. In service to his country, he enlisted with the United States Army Air Corp during World War II. Jack worked in sales for Michigan Carton Corporation and Packaging Corporation of America in Alabama. After moving to West in the early 1980's he worked as an assistant manager for West Egg Products for over ten years until his retirement in 1989. He then worked for Wal-Mart in Bellmead for over seventeen years. Jack loved feeding and watching birds, all sports, woodworking, and playing baseball. His parents and an infant daughter, Marlene Ann Talbott, preceded him in death. Survivors include his beloved wife of 60 years, Viola "Vi" Talbott of West; one son, Terry Talbott and wife Norma of Plano; one brother, Harold Talbott of Sugarland; one sister, Phyllis Talbott of Hudson, MI; a sister-in-law, Leona Sweigart of Adrian, MI; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the West Volunteer Ambulance Association or Fuzzy Friends of Waco.
