Rev. Jack W. Gardner, age 86, of Waco, passed away Tuesday evening, January 30, 2018 at Royal Manor in Waco. Memorials services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 16, 2018, at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, with Dr. Mike Milburn, Dr. John Crowder and Dr. Jimmie Nelson officiating. Military Graveside Rites will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Bethel Cemetery near Lake Cypress Springs. Jack was born March 6, 1931 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, the son of William W. and Clarice (Parker) Gardner. He attended schools in Wewoka. Jack served his country with the United States Army during the Korean War. On July 26, 1952 he was united in marriage to Sara Elizabeth "Liz" Gardner in Wewoka. Liz preceded him in death on November 2, 2006. Jack received a Master in Divinity from Southwestern Seminary in Ft. Worth and served as Pastor of many churches in communities including Tatum, TX, Elkhart, KS, West, TX, Lander, WY, Paonia, CO and Lake Cypress Springs, TX until his retirement in 2001. Jack is also preceded in death by his parents; a brother, William Gardner; and a sister, Omagene Johnston. Survivors include his children, Gary Gardner and Joe Scalzo of Houston, Glenda Chartier and husband Dennis of Hewitt and Greg Gardner and wife Christi of Tulsa, OK; a former daughter-in-law, Gayle Gardner of West; grandchildren, Valerie Payne, Tim Payne and wife Kim, Mike Gardner, Sarah Gardner, Mickey Gardner, Jimmie Gardner and wife Melissa and Tommy Gardner; great grandchildren, Harrison, Kinley, Macie, Finn, Jack, Emmalynn, Jake, Madilyn, Joe, Alison and Abigayle; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
