Irma Gaylor Jones

Irma L. (Gaylor) Jones, age 81, of West, passed away Saturday afternoon, March 30, 2013 at West Rest Haven in West. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, with Minister Mark Huffhines officiating. Graveside services will be held 12 noon Wednesday at Chilton Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Jones was born January 9, 1932 in Chilton, the daughter of Hubert N. and Minnie Marie (Hahmann) Gaylor. She was a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School in Port Arthur. On April 22, 1978 she was united in marriage to R. B. Jones in Waco. R. B. preceded her in death on December 10, 1993. Irma worked at several places including McDonald's in Nederland, but is best remembered as a candy making specialist for M&M Mars in Waco, for over 15 years before retiring in 1993. Irma was a member of the North end Baptist Church in Port Arthur. She was known for her green thumb and her unique ability to grow anything. Irma enjoyed dancing, cooking, and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. Irma is also preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, Kent Keel; an infant daughter, Bobbie Keel; and a brother, Bobby Gaylor. Survivors include two daughters, Debbie Savoie of Mooreville and Elaine King and husband Sam of Ross; two sons, Allen Keel Jr. of Waco and Daron Keel and wife Jennifer of Nederland; a twin sister, Betty Russell; 10 grandchildren, Cameron Savoie, Sam King Jr. and wife Joanna, Joe King and wife Tiffany, Kayla King, Trey Keel, Lindsey Keel, Brendon Keel, Zoe Keel, Jase Keel and Chance Keel; 4 great grandchildren, Kaden, Ashley, C.J and Dreydan; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Sam King Jr., Joseph King, Brendon Keel, Jase Keel, Cameron Savoie and Anthony Deluzio. The family would like to thank the employees of West Rest Haven for the special care they provided Irma during her residency. Memorials may be made to the West Rest Haven Memorial Fund.
