Irma M. Blaschke, age 92, of Ross, passed away early Thursday morning, January 1, 2015 at Providence Health Center in Waco. Funeral will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, with Pastor Mark Griffin officiating. Private burial will be at Closner Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Irma was born September 30, 1922 in Elm Mott, the daughter of Daniel and Emilie (Papendorf) Lander. She attended the old Gerald school and West High School. On November 21, 1942, she was united in marriage to Alfred Blaschke in Gerald. Alfred preceded her in death on January 8, 2010. Irma was a homemaker and also worked for Lorch Manufacturing in West before her retiring in 1989. She was co-owner of West Antiques and Ross Road Antiques. She was a member of First United Church of West. Irma enjoyed crocheting, gardening, canning dill pickles, making cinnamon rolls and collecting ceramic chickens. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. Irma is also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Larry Blaschke; a brother, Walter Lander; and a sister, Alice Holzer. Survivors include a son, Ronald Blaschke and wife Jackie of Columbus Georgia; a daughter, Linda Griffin and husband Lynn of China Spring; a brother, Daniel Lander; grandchildren, Lisa Lavallee and husband Keith, Ronald Blaschke Jr., Troy Blaschke and wife Corinna, Matt Blaschke and wife Monica, Sheila Nolan and husband Matt and Evie Trevino and husband Anthony; 18 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Closner Cemetery.
