Irene Lenart passed away on her 83rd birthday, Wednesday September 6, 2006 at Providence Hospital in Waco. Rosary and family visitation will be at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 8th, at Kotch Funeral Home Chapel in West. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 9th, at the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Penelope, Texas, with the Rev. Anthony G. Rauschuber and Msgr. Frank Miller as con-celebrants. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in West. Irene Ann Beseda was born on September 6, 1923 to Ben Beseda and Anna Urbis Beseda near Penelope. She was the youngest of their four children and their only daughter. She attended Griffin and Penelope schools. During her early twenties, she lived in Waco and worked at the Weston Bakery. She married Anton E. "Tony" Lenart on Oct. 26, 1948, in Penelope. She was a life long member of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Penelope and a member of the Altar Society. God blessed her with a quiet peace that she shared with all those she loved. She found great contentment in her role as a full-time homemaker to her husband and four children. Family unity was very important in her life and she stressed this to all her children and grandchildren. Irene and her husband were polka music enthusiasts throughout their married life. They enjoyed traveling throughout Texas and many states attending polka dances and festivals, where they made many friends through the years. She is preceded in death by her father, mother and three brothers, Raymond, Ben and Andrew Beseda. Mrs. Lenart is survived by her husband, Tony Lenart, of almost 58 years; four children, Charlotte Carter and husband, Rae of Waco, Dennis Lenart and wife, Pam of Chalk Bluff, JoAnn Kaluza and husband, Anton of West, and Kenny Lenart and wife, Sharon of Abbott; 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
