Irene (Glatter) Mueller, age 91, of Elm Mott, passed away early Monday morning, February 29, 2016 at West Rest Haven in West. A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Thursday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel, with visitation to follow until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Friday at St. Martin Catholic Church in Tours, with Msgr. Isidore Rozycki and Rev. Michael Ajewole as celebrants. Burial will follow at St. Martin Cemetery. Irene was born December 28, 1924 in Tours, the daughter of Mike and Magdalen (Hoelscher) Glatter. She attended the old Leggett School and Tours School. On September 26, 1964 she was united in marriage to Charlie A. Mueller in Axtell. Charlie preceded Irene in death on April 9, 1998. In early 1954, before meeting Charlie, Irene became owner of The Lone Star Tavern. After marrying Charlie, they became the original owners of the famous Lone Star Steakhouse near Waco for over 30 years. She also worked for the Bluebonnet Bomb Plant in McGregor during the war, Waco Glass Plant, Southwestern Bell Telephone Company and JM Wood Manufacturing in Waco. Irene was a member of St. Martin Catholic Church in Tours. She was also a member of the SPJST Lodge #66, RVOS Lodge #109 and the V.F.W. Post #2148 Ladies Auxiliary #2148 in Waco and a lifetime member of the Sons of Hermann Insurance. She was also a member of the Waco Centex Bosha Veterans Organization and an Auxiliary member of China-Burma India, where she served as Historian for 22 years. Irene was a passionate dancer and enjoyed cooking and loved to host parties. She also enjoyed collecting figurines, watching Wheel of Fortune and her pets, especially Mitzi, her cat. Irene is also preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Michael Glatter Jr. and Anton Glatter; a sister, Leona "Bootsie" Weinberger; and a step-son, Robert C. Mueller; brother-in-law, Raymond "Sonny" Weinberger; and sister-in-law, Doris Glatter. Survivors include a step-son, Wayne Mueller; a sister, Evelyn "Curly" Gauer and husband Herman; a sister-in-law, Evelyn Kettler; 4 step-grandchildren; several step great-grandchildren; 4 nieces; 5 nephews; and many other relatives and friends, including Jessie Pafford. Pallbearers are Cole Witt, Boonie Witt, Derrick Hurtt, Michael Weinberger, Todd Rorie, Steve Weinberger, Gerald Glatter, and Cory Mueller. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Martin Catholic Church, West Volunteer Ambulance Association or Fuzzy Friends.
